Summer cleaning

I cleaned on a steamy summer day
And found the tears from last fall
After you left for another realm
In the dust bunnies under the bed
Hiding
Lingering to infest my lungs
My heart, my cells.

I cleaned on a steamy summer day
And found the sobs from the winter
In the cob webs
Pasted in every corner of the house
Waiting to entangle me in
Memories longing of your love.

And found my Spring loneliness in the stagnant air
Ready to explode in the stifling air pressure,
An accumulation of my hollering for you
And sighs over the lack of your answers.
Spring, minus rebirth but festering with grief.

And readied to leave the pain behind
And take the memories of love
To a freshening place.

As I struggle to fine the new me.
The new me surrounding the essence of you.
